Definition
The European Cultural Backbone (ECB) is a coalition of mediacultural institutions and individuals working together to creatively use and develop participatory media for social change.
The new ECB website has two key functions:
- communication and information tool for ECB members
- 'point of presence' for the outside world about the ECB
Communication
The website contains two communication tools:
- internal communication tool (only for login members)
- public space (for everyone) for people to comment, etc on any ECB stuff
Information
The news are divided into 3 sections:
- news on policy and lobbying
- news, divided up into different categories (net politics,
collaborative tools, event special etc)
- events news

This is a very user friendly tool to quickly find out how to get the following support for a project you want to set up (internationally):
- funding sources (governments and foundations)
- lobby organisations
- advice (national offices for EU support, consultants etc)
